S. L. Feemster is a NYC-based conceptual storyteller. Feemster's first chapbook Up.W(o/a)rds, a collection of stories, scripts and soundtracks, inspired the Adam Holoubek Film LENS-MUSE (Festival Angaelica, Psychedelic Film and Music Festival, International Video Poetry Festival, Something Wicked Film Fest), and The LENS-MUSE Suite (EP). Feemster collaborated with physical theater company Aura CuriAtlas, and producer EJ Markland, on the digital/physical work S. L. Feemter’s ConFront(ed); 2021 premiere, 2022 restream. Feemster is also a singer/songwriter and ½ of the alt soul duo, JYL.
Feemster has appeared on film, and on stage throughout the U.S., and in the classroom as an arts educator. Feemster is currently working on a follow up to Up.W(o/a)rds, writing original music, and producing black and queer stories.
