In 2018, Jeremy and Liz co-taught a course for Baruch College’s master’s in Arts Administration. We paired this class with a CTC residency with four artists developing new work. To support the students, Jeremy created a workbook outlining some of CTC’s producing processes and methodologies. Liz and Jeremy co-taught the course again in 2019 which resulted in an updated workbook. Below you will find the workbook for “Support Precedes Movement: An Independent Producing Practicum.” Topics include:

  • Audience Cultivation

  • Project Management

  • Project Storytelling

  • Public Communications

You are welcome to review the workbook and the example documents at any time. This workbook is only intended to be used as reference. Email Jeremy if you have questions or would like additional information.

We begin each process, or phase of development, with planning. The planning phase brings together all of the ideas, questions, resources, and visions of the core team. The planning template is designed to co-create and capture ideas along the way, resulting in a document that can guide various phases of development over the life of a project. Jeremy designed the original template with Liz Stanton. In 2019 Jeremy and Kate Michael Gibson updated the template. Jeremy recently updated the template to include planning for hybrid reality/transmedia projects. You can view and download the template at any time to use for your projects.
