The Woman Who Was Me
Natalie Loveland is a freelance Costume Designer based in New York City. In New York, her designs have been seen at Classic Stage Company, Lincoln Center Education, Park Avenue Armory, Theatre Row, NYTW's Fourth Street Theatre and The Flea Theatre with companies including Trusty Sidekick, Convergences Theatre Collective, Mason Holdings and Spring Street Social Society among others. Regional credits include designs for The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre. Assistant credits include Irish Repertory Theatre, Ohio Light Opera, Illinois Shakespeare Festival and NETworks' National Tours of ELF and DIRTY DANCING.
With CTC, Natalie designed costumes for BABEL and THE WOMAN WHO WAS ME, which were both enriching, collaborative experiences - BABEL for its strongly engaged ensemble, and WOMAN for it’s examination and performance of a strong female narrative. Other memorable design experiences include Natalie's work with Trusty Sidekick, a company that serves young audiences and audiences on the autism spectrum.
Natalie is inspired by new works and enjoys being in the room while a piece is being developed. Her roots in performance built the foundation for her interest in character study and story telling.
In addition to design, Natalie has interests in a number of artistic endeavors including illustration and writing. She and her husband, actor Jess Prichard, continuously explore the various approaches to the artistic process and work together to improve their own practices.
Natalie received her MFA in Costume Design from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
